On a warm, sunny morning on August 28, golfers excitedly pulled into the gates of the prestigious Golf Le Mirage in Terrebonne, Quebec, to begin their day of golfing, networking and most importantly, giving back to the local community.

For almost 20 years, BGIS's annual charity golf tournaments have remained an anticipated event amongst clients, suppliers and BGIS team members alike. And, for the 14th consecutive year, BGIS is very proud and honoured to have teamed up with Loblaw to host the 2018 Quebec Golf Tournament in support of the PC Children's Charity. This year's tournament and Silent Auction raised an impressive $80,000, close to doubling the amount raised in 2017.

One hundred per cent of funds raised at the BGIS Quebec Golf Tournament is donated to the PC Children's Charity in Quebec. The Charity focus on childhood hunger and nutrition and rests on two strategic pillars: Feed Kids Good Food through school and community programs, and partnerships with organizations that address childhood hunger; and, Feed Kids Food Knowledge by supporting food-based education programs to empower children to make healthy, responsible and better-informed food choices. In 2017, PC Children's Charity, committed $150 million in fundraising and corporate support over the next decade to address childhood hunger. PC Children's Charity was founded in 1989 to help children across Canada, and since that time has granted more than $150 million, supporting more than 3.1 million children. Roughly 160 golfers, which comprised of BGIS team members, clients, suppliers, sponsors and special guests, began their friendly competition on the course in the morning, enjoying eight scenic holes before the heavens opened up and a storm rolled in, causing all the ambitious golfers to retreat to the clubhouse for some well-deserved drinks, meals and an afternoon of fundraising.

Not letting the weather put a damper on their spirits, the golfers jumped right into the afternoon events, co-hosted by Ray Isabey, General Manager, and Alain Chaput, Vice President, Client Service Delivery. The early evening saw the tournament's first ever electronic auction, in which many large prizes were bid on, including tickets for a Montreal Canadians versus Toronto Maple Leaf's national hockey game that sold for $7,000; the proceeds of which were generously donated to the Cam's Kids Foundation.

"I'm so proud of what the organization and the team have done once again. When you see that you can contribute to help those who are not as fortunate as you are, that's a fantastic feeling. Despite the rain, our golfers stayed for the afternoon's events and auction, to raise money for a phenomenal cause," said Alain Chaput. "Thank you to everyone for your generous donations and support!"

"President's Choice® Children's Charity's mission is to contribute to the well-being of kids across Canada. It is thanks to such valuable partners like BGIS that we can support programs aimed at fighting child hunger. Thank you BGIS for helping us feed as many children as possible because they are tomorrow's leaders," said Johanne Héroux, Senior Director of Corporate Affairs and Communications at Loblaw Companies Limited.

The BGIS Quebec charity golf tournament would not be possible without the support from the many sponsors who ensure that this event is a success year after year. BGIS would like to thank its clients and its suppliers for their charitable contributions and participation in this event.

In addition, a special thank you goes out to the BGIS team members and passionate Golf Committee members who worked hard to ensure the tournament's success this year including: Josee Deschamps, Pierre Harnois, Diana Jean-Louis, Josee Couture, Marc Ghobrial, Alain Chaput, and Ray Isabey.

"Although we are extremely busy as a team, the key members of the committee dedicated themselves to this event months before the start of the summer," said Ray Isabey. "I would like to thank all of them for their hard work which allowed this year's golf tournament to be another fruitful success.''

"Congratulations to everyone for yet another successful BGIS charity golf tournament," said Gord Hicks, Chief Executive Officer, BGIS. ''We are honoured to be able to partner with Loblaws and the PC Children's Charity each year and proud to support and raise money for a charity that makes such a positive impact in our communities."

BGIS looks forward to continuing to support these charities and initiatives and giving back to the communities in which we operate.
