For Immediate Release
Toronto, Ontario – December 10, 2018 – BGIS is pleased to announce that Supply & Demand Chain Executive, the executive's user manual for successful supply and demand chain transformation, has selected BGIS as a recipient of an SDCE Green Supply Chain Award for 2018.
The Green Supply Chain Award recognizes companies that make green initiatives or sustainability a core part of their supply chain strategy and work to achieve measurable sustainability goals within their own operations and supply chains. The awards also recognize providers of supply chain solutions and services assisting their customers in achieving measurable sustainability goals.
“BGIS is thrilled to have been recognized by SDCE with a 2018 Green Supply Chain Award,” says John Castelhano, Associate Vice President, Strategic Sourcing, North America, BGIS. “At BGIS, we expect all of our suppliers to operate in a sustainable fashion. The service contracts we engage in with our contractors and suppliers mandate the use of environmentally-friendly products; the implementation and use of an effective waste diversion program; and restrictions on the use of environmentally-damaging treatments, paints, refrigerants and other building cleaning and maintenance activities.”
This year's 10th-annual awards recognize small, mid-size and large enterprises that leveraged green practices and solutions to further drive sustainable improvements in their supply chain.
“This year’s award recipients place a critical emphasis on green initiatives within their companies and supply chains,” says John R. Yuva, editor for Supply & Demand Chain Executive. “Entries provide examples of innovative approaches and impressive metrics of sustainability programs.”
“BGIS is honoured to receive this award,” says Mike Greidanus, President, BGIS Canada. “’Living Sustainability’ is a core part of BGIS’s operating philosophy and values. We will continue to do business with companies that share the same commitment to the environment that we do.”
“We congratulate this year’s honorees for their commitment to sustainability and recognize their tremendous achievements,” Yuva adds. “Our honorees serve as role models for supply chains globally to expand their reach and impact of green leadership.”
