On Thursday, June 22, the BGIS – Seattle CSR Team volunteered several executives to serve tables in support of FareStart for the non-profit's weekly 'Guest Chef Night'.

FareStart is a non-profit, social entrepreneurial organization in Seattle, Washington, which operates a job placement and training program benefiting homeless and disadvantaged men, women, and youth.

Every Thursday night, FareStart hosts a unique dining experience – Guest Chef Night – for the community to celebrate graduating students with a one-time-only dinner created by a renowned local chef. Each week, a different Guest Chef works with students to prepare a gourmet three-course meal at the FareStart Restaurant in downtown Seattle and volunteers are enlisted to help as servers. The Seattle CSR Team answered the call for volunteers and seized the opportunity to enhance the community's awareness of FareStart's mission through engagement.

BGIS President – US, Brian Fellows, David Chan, Chris Read, Jean Perrigo, Leighton Hennings, Trey Fitzgerald, Dave Haver and Margie McCoy volunteered their time and resources by serving tables for the length of the evening. This was a rewarding opportunity to participate in a meal that also introduced the organization to new supporters and shared the transformative work of FareStart with the greater Seattle community.

"Our CSR Team's planning allowed the several volunteering executives to have an opportunity to play a part in a food lover's event that has an immense influence on the community around us", said Brian. "It was inspiring to see diners and the FareStart students walk away from Guest Chef Night with full hearts and full stomachs!"

The evening was a success for the volunteers and program graduates alike, considering it helped raise $7,144 for the program. With incredible partners such as the BGIS – Seattle CSR Team, FareStart has raised over $5 million in revenue since 1992 which has gone directly back into the program to support their student job training and placement services.

Congratulations to the BGIS – Seattle CSR Team and to all the volunteers for delivering a great guest experience and supporting the values for such an impactful cause!
